The drain auger (plumber's snake) is a flexible, motor-driven steel cable with interchangeable heads for electromechanical cleaning. It mechanically breaks through blockages and is particularly suited to foreign objects and narrow connection pipes in buildings. Stubborn cases are often flushed afterwards with high pressure.
